Amy’s path to writing began in a small Illinois town, where she spent her childhood creating flip books for anyone willing to read them. Her dream of becoming an author took root at age eight, though it would be years before that seed would grow into reality. After thirty-four years in education as an elementary school teacher and instructional coach, Amy retired to pursue her lifelong passion for writing.

She is the author of Little Loki to the Rescue and Little Loki and the Unexpected Guest, stories inspired by the real-life adventures of her beloved dachshund, Little Loki. When not writing, Amy tends to her garden, hikes with her dogs, and loses herself in books—a habit carried over from those early days in Illinois. 

She lives in Texas with her husband, their three dogs—Suki, Isla, and Loki—and a cat named Callie, and stays close to her grown children and young grandchildren, who continue to help nurture her creative journey.
